Generally, traveling to Oman is partially allowed, and health insurance is required for all countries. Also, there is a required quarantine for 7 days for all countries. As for local restrictions, events are banned, transportation is partially open, and restaurants and bars are delivery or takeout only.

 

Travel Restrictions

Regular Travelers

According to the last update (29.03.2021), travelers who have been in Brazil, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Lebanon, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, or Tanzania are not allowed to enter the country.

Exception

The exceptions are the nationals of Oman and their family members. Also, passengers who have a diplomatic passport can enter the country with their families. Besides, travelers who are domestic workers of nationals of Oman can enter the country with an accompanied sponsor.

Travelers from the United Kingdom

Passengers who have been in the UK in the past 14 days (accommodation or transition) are not allowed to enter Oman.

Exception

The exception is for the nationals of Oman.

 

Travel Requirements

Passengers need to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test, issued at most 72 hours before arrival. The test result must be in Arabic or English.

Exception

  • 16 years old or younger passengers
  • Passengers with a diplomatic passport

Registration

Travelers need to register at https://covid19.emushrif.om/traveler/travel before departure, fill the registration form, and pay the test upon arrival at OMR 25.

Exceptions

  • 16 years old or younger passengers
  • Travelers with a diplomatic passport

Quarantine

Travelers need to self-isolate themselves for 7 days at their own expense.

Hotel

There is a rule in Oman during the pandemic in which you must have a hotel reservation confirmation from https://covid19.emushrif.om/traveler/accommodation/type or Hmushrif app

Exceptions

  • 18-years-old or younger travelers who are traveling alone
  • Passengers older than 60 years
  • Travelers who have authorization from the Health Authorities
  • Travelers who have permission for private institutional isolation centers, pre-approved by Β the Relief and Shelter Sector
  • Merchant seamen who have a letter from the shipping agent saying that the airline or the government of Oman will arrange a hotel for the duration of stay.

Travel Insurance

Travelers need to have travel insurance for COVID-19 for 1 month.

Exceptions

Nationals of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
