Day 1 Welcome to Tallinn!

Tallinn
Tallinn is a delightful mix of medieval charm and modern urban life. During the summer, the medieval Old Town buzzes with activity, offering numerous shops, galleries, souvenir markets, and outdoor cafés and restaurants. A sightseeing tour will take you around the old city walls and into the heart of the Old Town, where you can explore Toompea Castle, the Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the medieval Old Town Hall, and the Great Guild Hall. In the afternoon, there's an optional excursion to Kadriorg Park and a visit to KUMU, the award-winning Estonian Art Museum, which showcases both classic and contemporary fine art. In the evening, you can opt for a medieval-themed dinner at the Maikrahv Restaurant.

Tallinn - Lahemaa - Tallinn
This day is for you to enjoy on your own or choose an optional tours we have for this day. An optional day excursion to Lahemaa National Park is available, where you'll visit Palmse Manor, a memorial to the von Pahlen family, as well as Sagadi Manor. The tour concludes with a visit to the charming 13th-century Vihula Manor and the Vodka Museum.

Tallinn - Tratu
We continue to Tartu, known as the University Town, where Estonia gained its statehood. Here, we explore the charming Old Town and the historic University, founded in 1632. Accommodation will be at Hotel Dorpat*** or a similar option. In the afternoon, there is an optional visit to the Estonian National Museum, which is dedicated to the country's cultural history and everyday life, spanning a timeline from the present day back to the Ice Age.

Tartu - Grasi
Departing from Tartu, we head south into Latvia, with our first stop in Aluksne. Shortly after, we reach Stameriena, a gem of European romanticism with close ties to the Italian writer Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. After exploring Stameriena, we continue to Cesvaine, where we visit a small private beer brewery and are invited to sample their products. Later in the afternoon, we arrive at Grasi Manor***, a picturesque estate in the classical style, nestled in the heart of Latvia. The evening concludes with dinner at Grasi Manor.

Grasi - Daugavpils
Leaving Grasi, our first stop is in Aglona, where we visit the Aglona Basilica, a late Baroque-style church, and a ceramics workshop, both important symbols of Latgalian culture. From there, we continue to Daugavpils, Latvia's second-largest city. Here, we tour the historical city center and visit the 19th-century Daugavpils Fortress, as well as the Mark Rothko Art Centre, the only place in Europe where original masterpieces by the renowned founder of abstract expressionism can be seen. Just outside the city, we arrive at the charming Sventes Manor and check in at Hotel Svente Manor****.

Daugavpils - VIlnius
Today, we continue south into Lithuania, arriving around midday at Aukštaitija National Park, known for its numerous lakes, rivulets, and streams nestled among forests and hills. We explore the park with a leisurely walk through its scenic landscapes and visit the charming lakeside town of Palūšė, renowned for its wooden church. In the late afternoon, we head towards Vilnius, where we check in at Hotel Neringa**** or a similar accommodation.

Vilnius
Vilnius is renowned for its more than 1,200 medieval buildings and 48 churches. Our morning walking tour takes us through the Old Town, where we visit landmarks such as Vilnius Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, Peter and Paul Church, St. Anne’s Church, the Old University, and the Gates of Dawn. In the afternoon, there is an optional tour to the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, where you'll learn about the fortifications and explore the collection of armaments from the castle and the palace of the Grand Dukes.

Vilnius
In the morning, there's an optional visit to the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights. Located in the former office of the KGB Deputy Chief of Internal Prison, the museum’s first floor features an exhibition of documents, photographs, maps, and other items illustrating the Sovietization of the region from 1940 to 1941. In the afternoon, an optional excursion is offered to Trakai, the medieval capital of Lithuania, where you can explore the well-preserved Trakai Castle, beautifully situated on an island in Lake Galvė. In the evening, you can enjoy an optional traditional Lithuanian dinner at Restaurant Senoji Trobelė.

Vilnius - Kaunas - Nida
Departing from Vilnius, we head towards the western part of Lithuania. Along the way, we stop in Kaunas, the former capital, to admire the charming Old Town and the elegant white Baroque Town Hall. After a short walking tour in Klaipėda, we take a ferry to the Curonian Spit and continue to the resort town of Nida. Upon arrival, we check in at Hotel Nerija****. In the evening, there's an optional authentic fisherman's dinner at "Tik Pas Joną."

Nida - Liepaja
The morning is set aside for an optional half-day tour of the Curonian Spit, a 100 km long stretch of land between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon, known for its small fishing villages, pine forests, and vast sand dunes. The tour includes visits to the stunning Parnidis and Naglis Dunes, the Hill of Witches in Juodkrantė, and Thomas Mann’s summerhouse. In the early afternoon, we head towards Liepāja, arriving in the late afternoon to check in at Hotel Art Roma****. In the evening, there is an optional casual dinner at the Red Sun Buffet, a beach café located right on the wide, sandy shore.

Liepaja - Riga
Liepāja gets its name from the many linden trees found throughout the city. We begin the day with a short stroll through the Old Town, visiting Trinity Church, and then explore Jūrmala Park and the historic Naval Port area, home to the famous Orthodox Cathedral. Next, we continue through southern Latvia to the magnificent Rundāle Palace, the former summer residence of the Duke of Courland. After a guided tour of the palace, we travel on to Riga, arriving in the late afternoon. We check in at Hotel Radisson Blu Elizabete**** or a similar accommodation.

Riga
Founded in 1201 by the German bishop Albert, Riga is the largest of the three Baltic capitals and showcases a rich variety of architectural styles. Our morning walking tour takes us through the Art Nouveau district and the Old Town, where we visit Riga Castle, the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, the Swedish Gate, the Three Brothers, the Large and Small Guilds, and the Freedom Monument. In the afternoon, there is an optional visit to Jūrmala, a lively Latvian seaside resort known for its wooden architecture and sandy beaches. The evening features an optional organ concert at the Dome Cathedral.
