The Aswan High Dam, built between 1960 and 1970 in Aswan, Egypt, spans the Nile and ranks among the world's largest embankment dams. When finished, it claimed the title of the tallest earthen dam globally, surpassing the United States' Chatuge Dam.

The Temple of Kom Ombo, situated in the town of Kom Ombo within the Aswan Governorate of Upper Egypt, stands as a distinctive double temple constructed during the Ptolemaic dynasty from 180 to 47 BC.
