Day 1

Begin your full-day private tour early in the morning with a hotel pickup. Your driver will take you to Athens Airport, where you will connect to your flight to Thessaloniki. Your flight to Thessaloniki takes about an hour and the flight tickets are included.

Same Day

Upon arrival at Thessaloniki Airport, an English-speaking driver will transport you in less than 45 minutes to your first destination, the city of Pella in Central Macedonia.

Same Day

On the northeastern edge of the archaeological site is where Pella's museum is situated.
After touring the region, you will get here where you may appreciate many of the archaeological discoveries and relate them to the local monuments in order to comprehend many aspects of daily life in the Macedonian capital.

Same Day

The city of Pella, located in Central Macedonia, is one of the top archaeological tourist spots in Greece.
Archelaus, the King of Macedon, moved the seat of his kingdom from present-day Vergina to Pella around the end of the fifth century B.C. Pella remained the capital of Macedon until their defeat to the Romans in 168 B.C. The heyday of Pella occurred during King Philip II (360–336 B.C.) and Alexander the Great (336-323 B.C.).
The archaeological site at Pella is 1000 acres large. The palace on the northern hill, the agora in the city center, and three sanctuaries - the Thesmoforion, Venus's sanctuary, and Darrhon's sanctuary - were the excavations' most significant discoveries.

Same Day

After leaving Pella, you will visit the beautiful village of Vergina. Vergina was known as Aigai in the past and served as the first capital of the Kingdom of Macedon.
In Vergina, in 1977, the archaeologist Manolis Andronikos oversaw excavations and discovered four burial sites, three of which, in the majority of experts' opinions, belonged to Alexander the Great's father Philip II, one of his wives, and Alexander IV of Macedon. The Museum, the Palace, the city, the Acropolis, and the surrounding territory make up the larger Vergina archaeological site. The Royal Tombs in the historic necropolis of Aigai are the most significant sight.
In the same area as the graves, which have been submerged in mud for so long, is a museum exhibiting the discoveries. The gold larnaca (funeral box) decorated with the star of the Macedonian Dynasty and holding King Philip II's bones and the remains of his golden wreath is the museum's most significant display.

Same Day

After this fascinating visit, we will drive you to Thessaloniki airport to board your 1 hour flight to Athens.

Same Day

Once you land in Athens, your driver will meet you at the Arrivals exit at Athens Airport to drive you back to your hotel.
