We set off towards Sesimbra, traditionally, a fishing village, today is a Portuguese summer resort, known for its restaurants, beautiful beaches and natural beauty.
We continue to Serra da Arrábida, a Natural Park full of beautiful landscapes, revealed by viewpoints in the upper part, as well as paradisiacal beaches at the foot of the mountain.
Setúbal is the next stop. Inhabited since ancient times by the Phoenicians and the Romans, has always been linked to maritime activities. In the 19th century was one of the most important ports in the country. We suggest lunch at a local restaurant (optional) a fresh grilled fish or a succulent and crunchy fried cuttlefish (traditional Setúbal dish).
Before leaving Setúbal, we have to highlight: São Filipe Fort, currently converted into an Inn, is a great viewpoint over the city, the Sado River, Troia and Serra da Arrábida
Heading to Palmela region, we will find several cellars in the nearby town of Azeitão, where they also produce excellent cheeses and delicious pies. We recommend a visit and tasting at a local winery.
After this fantastic day, we head back to Lisbon, crossing the famous Vasco da Gama Bridge, inaugurated in 1998, which is one of the largest in Europe.
