Another great choice in the category of Bangkok’s modern places is the Centralworld square downtown. This large city activity square can be your perfect Thailand destination if you want to shop, chill at cafes or bars, go to the cinema, eat, and many more.
To purchase souvenirs, or buy Cheaper, rarer items with a more native and Asian feeling to them, you should check out the Chatuchak weekend market. This colorful, large market is open on Friday and Saturday, generally from 9 am 6 pm. The best time to shop there is when the market first opens. The earlier, the better! It’s where You can eat some delicious snacks too, like coconut ice creams and savory leaves. If you want a somewhat similar vibe, visit the Chinatown area and try the excellent food. If you specifically want to buy clothes, shoes, or accessories, the Pratunam market is also a good option.
Khao San road
Our next Thailand destination offer is the famous Khao San road, one of the best choices to drink and have some night activities. It can be scorching and crowded; to avoid the intense heat, visit after 7 pm and preferably not alone. The Sukhumvit area is also great for dining and clubbing. For drinking with a beautiful sight of the city, Bangkok’s sky bars are lovely; the hotel you’re staying at may have one of them, but some other fabulous examples are Lebua state tower bar, Cloud 47, and Yao rooftop bar. Just make sure you know the dress code, and you are above 20 years old!
Bangkok has some lovely, relaxing Parks too. Like the central Lumpini park and Benjakitti park, which are the less populated parts of the city.
Bangkok’s Riverside
You can also check out Bangkok’s Riverside. Aside from the luxury hotels, there is so much you can see and do, from boat rides to all types of day and night activities, like going around Bangkok in Thonburi canals or stop at Asiatique, the Riverfront night market.
Museums
When you were ready to open a new chapter in your trip book and had enough of the ongoing street life, going to the beautiful Museums near the riverside like, Royal Barges Museum, Bangkok Forensic Museum, and the National Museum are great starters for diving in the past. They are truly magical places where you can lose yourself in Thai art and history. You need to pay 100 Baht to enter the Royal Barges Museum and another 100 Baht if you want to take pictures. Videos cost 200 Baht (near 6 USD) too. For entering the Bangkok Forensic Museum, you should pay 200 Baht, and photography is not allowed. The National museum’s entrance fee is 200 Baht, and it is open Wednesday to Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Flashed photography is not allowed there. Jim Thompson’s house museum is also a good option if you have already seen the more popular museums.
Grand palace
Another magnificent riverside Thailand destination is the Grand palace, although it is relatively expensive to get in: paying 500 baht (around USD 16) per person is needed. But if you want to see an elegant royal aesthetic and you are a history and architecture enthusiast, it will be a super pleasant experience for you.
A Place For Worshiping!
Wat Pho or the Temple of the Reclining Buddha (with the word “wat” meaning temple), is on the south of the grand palace and has a stunning property: a large, long, lounged golden sculpture, Buddha. Plus, you won’t regret visiting Wat Arun and Wat Phra Keaw, which is also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and Wat Arun, with their stylish detailed look. In conclusion, you can spend days exploring only the riversides.
As for More breathtaking temples in Bangkok, we suggest visiting the marble temple at sunset, the Emerald temple, and Wat Saket with its pleasant environment. About the dress code in Thai temples, just cover your shoulders, knees, and preferably the ankles too.

Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, The ruins
It will be an excellent destination for you if you want to take a break from busy Bangkok and go to an old, calm city with beautiful ruins. Ayutthaya has more or less the same type of attractions as Chaing Mai and Chiang rai, but it absolutely has its own flavor and worth the visit. This former capital is the home to a cool Floating Market and some haunting historical ruins and temples, like Ayutthaya Historical Park, Wat Maha That, Wat Chai Watthanaram, and many more, plus Wat Lokayasutharam, with another reclining Buddha statue! While you’re there, you may also check out the Buddha head embedded in a Banyan tree and Wat Yai Chaimongkol with the yellow-wearing Buddha statues.
Chiang Mai and Mueang Chiang Rai
These are unique cultural destinations where you can get lost in the many fascinating temples and eat some incredible food. Chiang Mai and its neighbor Chiang rai are there if you want to get a taste of Thailand’s old soul and exhilarating nature. First of all, we have the Glowing Temples Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan, and the stunning Silver Temple Wat Sri Suphan (which looks like a total dream in the nighttime lighting), and Wat Chiang Man in Chiang Mai. Then there are the color-themed temples of Chiang Rai, Wat Rong Khun, aka “the White Temple,” Wat Rong Seua Ten, the Blue temple, and The Black Temple, which are absolutely gorgeous. You won’t regret visiting Wat Phra Sing and Wat Phra That Doi Chom Thong too.
Ancient sites
Besides the temples, other attractions of these two northern historical cities are Chiang Mai’s Old City Tha Phae Gate, Wiang Kum Kam, the Underground Ancient City, Chiang rai’s Oub Kham Museum, and the Golden Clock Tower. Chaing Mai has Tha Pae Sunday Walking Street and Old Chiang Mai Cultural Center in terms of cultural activities, and Chiang Rai has vivid walking streets and a night bazaar.
National Parks
Doi Suthep–Pui National Park, Nong Buak Haad Public Park, Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden, Royal Park Rajapruek, Khao Sok National Park, and the Elephant Sanctuary are some of the best nature type destinations of Chiang Mai for you. You can also do Jungle zipping there for a more exciting, adrenaline rushing activity. Don’t forget about the beautiful Bhubing Palace and Grand Canyon water park too. However, there are some other hidden gems of a beach in Thai islands that we’re going to tell you about, which look and feel like a complete paradise.
We have Koh Samui Island (the word “Koh” means island in the Thai language.) There, you will be surprised by the lovely beaches that have clean water and white sands, and a rainforest. Another destination that is not an Island is Railay Peninsula, which is accessible by boat with 100 to 150 Baht price. Railay has a beautiful landscape and quiet nights, and you can go rock climbing there.
Koh Nang Yuan, A private land
Next, we have Koh Nang Yuan, a privately owned island, which, again, you should get there by boat. It has nice, clear water and a pleasant view. You have to pay 100 Baht to get there. Also, it is suggested to come at the end of the day. Don’t forget to go diving in the fresh blue water. Then there are Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai, located between Phuket and Krabi. They are mostly unpopulated and have great restaurants and hotels.
Cliffs and Turquoise Water
Koh Kham is another private island with pretty palm trees, and then for a fun time, you can check out Koh Phi Phi Islands, which are populated but great for party nights. Maya bay is one of Koh Phi Phi beaches, surrounded by cliffs with beautiful turquoise water. For a more relaxing experience, you can go to Koh Samet near Bangkok, which has a bit of nightlife as well. Or Koh mak, another not overpopulated island with good hotels and restaurants.
Koh Ngai, A Retreat Destination
An excellent choice for a day trip would be Koh Ngai; it’s in the Krabi province, not populated, and has clear blue water.
