Victoria Peak, known as The Peak, is the highest mountain in the western side of Hong Kong with an elevation of 552 meters (1,811 feet) above sea level. This is the place where every tourist who comes to Hong Kong should visit. History of The Peak

During the 1870s and 1880s, Victoria Peak was the favorite summer destination for wealthy residents of Hong Kong where they could take advantage of the cool and humid climate of the Peak. Later in 1881, Mr. Alexander Findlay Smith started a petition to the Governor, Sir John Pope-Hennessy to build tram routs. Thus, it was easier for pedestrians to move throughout the mountain and more people tended to visit Victoria Peak due to easier transportation. Then, gradually the Peak became famous for its amazing view of the city and Victoria Harbor.

The Peak Tram

The fastest way to reach the Peak is by taking the tram. It’s been more than 130 years that the unique tram experience has attracted and impressed people who visit the Peak from around the globe. The Peak Tram transports approximately 12,000 people daily and the passengers travel a distance of 1.4 km with Tram.

As people ride this amazing tram, they can relax and observe the marvelous sight below. The tickets (including Peaks Tram Sky Pass which is for both Peak Tram and Sky Terrace 428) are sold at Garden Road Peak Tram Lower Terminus. Also, at the Peak Tram upper terminus, the single and return tickets are sold.

Sky Terrace 428

At the Sky Terrace 428, the whole of Hong Kong is under your feet. Here, you stand right 428 meters above sea level and this is the highest viewing spot in Hong Kong. Interestingly, your eyes will be flattered by the fabulous 360-degree panoramic view of the city. You can reach the Sky Terrace 428 with the Peak Tram Sky Pass which is sold at the lower terminus of the peak tram.
