Day 1

Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Same Day

Depart from your Arusha hotel and drive to Lake Manyara National park En route to Lake Manyara Park, we’ll be passing through Maasai country where we may spot the Maasai herders tending their flocks. Arrive in good time for lunch

Get ready for the onslaught of colors that greets us at Lake Manyara – the cobalt alkaline lake, contrasting with vibrant flocks of feathery pink flamingoes, crowding its shores.

The deep greens of the park’s acacia forest hold all manner of wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, impalas, wildebeests, and active troops of baboons.

But it’s perhaps the tree-climbing lions that are a signature attraction of the park. You may spot them lazily napping way up on the branches of acacia trees, just waiting to have their picture taken.

We’ll enjoy our first safari evening at our Lake Manyara safari tented camp

After breakfast full day in Serengeti National Park (early morning, mid and afternoon game drives), all meals and overnight, Seronera Campsite.

Serengeti is easily Tanzania’s most famous national park, and it’s also the largest, at 14,763 square kilometres of protected area that borders Kenya’s Masai Mara Game ParkIt is the Migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June.

So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back. The Wildebeest travel through a variety of parks, reserves and protected areas and through a variety of habitat. Join us to explore the different forms of vegetation and landscapes of the Serengeti ecosystem and meet some of their most fascinating inhabitants

Day 4

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Same Day

Early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, brunch and depart for Ngorongoro Crater Rim, en-route game drive.Traveling on, we’ll come upon the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast volcanic caldera of 263 sq km (101 sq mi), isolated from the rest of Africa. The world’s largest intact crater is its own universe of grassland, swamp, and woodlands, a dense habitat of tens of thousands of animals.

Our 4 x 4 Jeep will carefully negotiate the steep descent down the crater wall taking us to this magnificent ecosystem.

Every sort of wildlife inhabits this isolated world and we will be tracking for lion, leopard, buffalo, black rhino, zebra, antelope, and bird life such as pink flamingoes.

We’ll enjoy our lunch in this rich environment, marveling at the profusion of wildlife gathered in this special space.

Then as late afternoon approaches, we’ll head back up the crater wall for another African surprise, a signature Ngorongoro sunset.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater to Tarangire

Same Day

Early breakfast descend in to the Crater floor for game drive, lunch at hippo pool picnic site, ascend to the rim and depart.

The Ngorongoro Crater is often called ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World,’ a visit to the crater is a main drawcard for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is home of Ngorongoro Crater. It was formed some 2.5 million years ago from a volcanic mountain sinking due to inactivity, and was initially thought to be higher than Tanzania’s famous Kilimanjaro.

The crater has evolved into a unique and integral part of Tanzania’s eco-system. The crater is actually a caldera, measures 22.5 km’s across and the rim walls stand 600m high. Views from within and from the rim are breathtaking (as can be seen from the picture). The crater houses 30,000 animals and a large variety of birds, which rarely move from the area due to the availability of water through wet and dry seasons
