Sigiriya o is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres (660 ft) high According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavamsa, this site was selected by King Kasyapa (477 – 495 CE) for his new capital. He built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colourful frescoes. Visit Dambulla Rock Temple

Day 4 - Kandy

Galmaduwa Temple in Kandy
A short turn off from the Kundasale Road just outside of Kandy and you will come upon a strange sight: the unfinished Galmaduwa Viharaya. Traditionally ascribed to King Keerthi Sri Rajasinghe, it is said that while this building was being completed the king heard of the discovery of a cave at Degaldoruwa and stopped the work on Galmaduwa shifting his attention to Degaldoruwa. Sadly, in its unfinished state, this building was never used as a temple., Arts in Ambakke. Embekka Devalaya was built by the King Vikramabahu of Gampola Era (AD 1357 - 1374) in Sri Lanka. The devalaya is dedicated to Kataragama deviyo. A local deity called Devatha Bandar is also worshiped at this site. The shrine consists of three sections, the "Sanctum of Garagha", the "Digger" or "Dancing Hall" and the "Hewisi Mandapaya" or the "Drummers' Hall". The Drummers' Hall has drawn the attention of visitors to the site, due to the splendid wood of its ornate pillars and its high pitched roof

Day 5 - Kandy To Colombo to Airport

commercial hub with offices and shopping areas located amidst the oldest colonial hotel GOH. It has a fantastic view of the Colombo harbor, a lighthouse with a clock tower (older than Big Ben in London) close to the president’s house and old parliament. Afterwards, proceed through the main street passing the old Dutch Museum, belfry and old City Hall which houses puppets of earlier governors of Sri Lanka. Stops will be made at the Old Dutch hospital with shops and restaurants facing Sri Lanka’s twin tower buildings.
