Upon arrival at Vientiane Airport you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to the hotel for check-in. If you time permits, take a half-day city tour and start you visit with the Wat Sisaket that is known for thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. En route to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa. Take some photos of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. The final visit of the day will be the excellent COPE Exhibition Center, highlighting a much overlooked aspect of Laos and a major problem many of the local people face on a day to day basis in the form of unexplored ordnance as a result of heavy bombing campaigns during the Vietnam War era. Overnight stay in Vientiane.

In the morning you will be transferred to the airport and take a flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival in Luang Prabang, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. After a brief rest start your visit with the Vat Vixoune that is influenced by Thai- Lu architecture and That Makmo, the watermelon shape stupa. Climb up Phousy Hill for a panoramic view over the city and the Mekong River. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure. Stay overnight in Luang Prabang.

In the morning, visit the Royal Palace Museum that is housing the most important treasures of Laos’ recent past. Take a walk to the local pier of Luang Prabang behind the Museum to embark at the local pier of Luang Prabang on a traditional boat and go upstream on the Mekong River and visit the sacred Buddha caves. On the way stop by the Thin Hong, a picturesque village and get a glimpse of daily life. Visit Tham Ting and Tham Phoum caves housing hundreds of Buddha statues. Enjoy lunch at Suan Pak Ou restaurant near the caves at your own expense. Return to Luang Prabang by boat and en route stop at Ban Xang Khong handmade paper village. Take a walk in the old city or shop at Hmong Market. Overnight stay in Luang Prabang.

Visit the Vat Xieng Thong, one of the most beautiful temples of Luang Prabang, dating back from 16th century. The roofs of the Sim sweep low to the ground and glass colored panels adorn the walls of the chapels then proceed to Vat Mai with its five tiered roof and exquisite carved veranda. The tour ends in Luang Prabang. When the tour ends, you will be transferred to Luang Prabang International Airport for your onward tour.
