Day Tour to the Atlas Mountains: Berber Villages,Valleys & Trails

We pick up guests from their hotel or Riad or home in Marrakech or the nearest location accessible by car, we confirm the pick up location and time to the client one day before the day of the experience.

Our first discovery stop is at the Berber village farmers market where locals gather for their weekly shopping. The markets are held on (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and Saturday afternoons). On days when the market is not operating, we have the opportunity to visit a local Berber heritage museum. Next, we visit the Argan Oil Cooperative. This is a locally produced oil found only in Morocco and is handmade by women. It is labor intensive and the product is a rich oil with amazing properties for the skin and delicious taste for cooking. The cooperative also provides income and education for local women.

Leave behind the bustling Ourika road and journey deeper into the Atlas Mountains as you travel toward the tranquil Asni Valley. The road winds through breathtaking mountain scenery, where we invite you to take a leisurely walk to fully absorb the natural beauty. Along the way, we can pause at any point for photos, allowing you to capture the stunning landscapes, and you'll encounter local children from nearby villages, to whom you are welcome to bring small school supplies or clothes as a thoughtful gesture.
Lunch is a truly local experience—a homemade meal served in a traditional Berber family home with panoramic views of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, and the expansive Atlas range. Prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, the meal offers a delightful taste of regional cuisine, with vegetarian options available to meet all dietary preferences.

The journey back to Marrakech takes you through the verdant Asni Valley, where green orchards and diverse fruit trees offer a striking contrast against the red earth. This scenic day trip blends the beauty of Morocco’s natural landscapes with authentic cultural experiences, creating an unforgettable escape into the heart of the Atlas Mountains.
