Day 1 Fayoum Oasis Full-Day Trip
Itinerary

FAYOUM OASIS Over day

After pick you up from your hotel in Cairo we will head towards Fayoum oasis located about 95 km south of Cairo
Museum of Kom Oshim
Our first stop is at the village of Kom Oshim to visit its museum which exhibits different collections from Pharaonic and roman artifacts time including old beautiful burial portraits as well as various mummies.
Karanis Catacombs
In walking distance from the museum are the catacombs of Karanis, where you will explore one of the largest Greco roman burial grounds founded during the reign of Ptomoly ll in the 3rd century BC.
Hawara Pyramid
The next stop is at the Pyramid of Hawara, built by Pharaoh Amnemhat lll whose reign is considered to be the golden age of the pharaonic Middle Kingdom.
Qarun Lake
Your trip continues with a visit Egypt’s largest salt water lake, it is also the worlds oldest natural lake. Relax while watching the waterwheels turn and observe the migrating birds that call the Qarun Lake their home.

Lunch
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your adventure, vegetarian option is available, please advise at checkout. (Lunch is included, yet drinks are not).

Next get your thrill-seeking fix with dune bashing in a 4×4 vehicle, moving up and down the sandy dunes for around 1 hour. Try your hand at sandboarding. Fasten the board to your feet and slide down swiftly from the dune edge.

Wadi Hitan ( the Valley of whales )
For your last visit of the trip, you will visit the valley of the whales, Wadi El Hitan is a UNESCO World Heritage site and its name translates to ‘Valley of Whales,’ Here you can witness fossils of whales more than 200 million years old. Learn about the important stages of evolution from your guide. Try to sight the common wild animals unique to this area, such as African wildcat and Egyptian mongoose before driving back to your hotel in Cairo.
