You will visit Jinvali Water Reservoir that supplies Tbilisi with drinking water constructed in 1985. Maximum depths of the reservoir is 75 meters.
You will visit Ananuri Castle Complex was a castle and seat of the dukes of Aragvi, a feudal dynasty ruling the area from 13th century. The complex is on the tentative list of UNESCO program and consists of church Medicare, water reservoir, bell-tower, prison cell, seven-storey tower, older Church of the Virgin and larger Church of the Mother of God built in 1689 for the son of Duke Bardzim.
You will visit the place where two rivers Black and White Aragvi merge and hear beautiful but sad legend. The origins of black and white Aragvi are rocks of the corresponding color.
You will visit Gergeti Holy Trinity church that was built in the 14th century at elevation of 2170m under Mount Kazbek (5054 m). In times of danger, precious relics from Mtskheta, including Saint Nino's Cross were brought here for safekeeping. On the south wall of the temple there is a small council (XV-XVI centuries), where the Council of Elders of Khevi resolved the most important issues of community life. Tour includes 4x4 transportation from Kazbegi to Gergeti Church during winter period.
You will enjoy great views of Dariali Gorge, appreciate mountainous Khde river and explore the monastery complex near Russia and Georgia border completed in 2011 at elevation of 1300 meters.
You will hike to small and big waterfalls of Gveleti (Snake’s Waterfall) and enjoy picturesque views all over Caucasus Mountains. You will enjoy beautiful countryside of village Gveleti and then climb to the narrow pathway to the canyon of Gveleti. Total hiking distance is 4 km roundtrip and durations of the easy hike is 1.5 hours in total.
You will stop for lunch in Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). If you choose Tour with Lunch option, you will have a lunch in the local family that includes tasting best meals from local mountainous cuisine. If you choose Standard Tour option, you will stop in a restaurant, where you can order the food you like from the menu.
You will visit village Sno that is the home of the Patriarch of the Georgia. Sno has a statue of Vakhtang Gorgasali, Medieval Watch Tower and giant portrait sculptures of Georgia’s prominent writers and public figures by Merab Firanishvili.
You will visit a three-nave basilica of Khevi gorge from the IX-X centuries and a four-story, pyramidal watchtower located on the edge of a steep cliff used to watch enemy movements and transmit signals by making smoke.
You will visit Jvari Pass Travertine that is part of Kazbegi Protected Areas at 2197 meters above the sea level. Travertine is formed when carbonate minerals precipitate out of ambient temperature water.
You will visit Russia–Georgia Friendship Monument (Panorama Gudauri) that was built in 1983 to celebrate the Treaty of Georgievsk and ongoing friendship between Soviet Georgia and Soviet Russia. You can enjoy panoramic view of Caucasus Mountains.

What to Bring
- Ladies need to wear headscarves and dresses in Georgian orthodox churches. Short trousers for men are also forbidden. Scarves and dresses can also be found near some church entrances.
- Comfortable hiking shoes and warm jacket are recommended.
