About This Tour

Sometimes the best things to see and do in Kathmandu are not in the center of the capital city. On the Kathmandu Valley Rim one day tour, a journey to four unique and inspiring places in the southeastern part of the Kathmandu Valley. 

The city of Bhaktapur, as well as the beautiful village of Changu Narayan, features ancient temples, incredible carvings, and flagstone streets. The entire communities have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites because of their uniqueness in history, religion, and culture. 

In addition, you will be taken to the rarely visited, but truly inspiring village of Panauti were a series of temples and ancient artwork line the banks at the confluence of three rivers (including a sacred, underground river). Also on the tour is a stop at Kailashnath, the world’s tallest Shiva statue at 44 m/143 feet! These places are not crowded, and truly an enlightening experience.

Day 1 Stop At: Changu Narayan, Bhaktapur

This is the oldest Hindu (Narayan) temple of Kathmandu Valley. There is 4 Narayan temples in Kathmandu and this is eastern part Narayan temple which protect Kathmandu Valley. Listed in World Heritage Sites and can be seen Mountain View from the temple areas.

Day 2 Stop At: Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Bhaktapur

This is one of the beautiful durbar square among 3 in Kathmandu valley. This is the ways to explore palaces, old carvings and pottery square with many temples and culture of typical Newari religion.

Day 3 Stop At: Nyatapola Temple, Bhaktapur

This is 5 stairs beautiful temple with wide courtyards. You will enjoy to visit this temple and surrounding areas.

Day 4 Stop At: 55 Window Palace, Bhaktapur

This is 55 Window palace of Bhaktapur Durbar square carved beautifully. Enjoy this palace and surrounding areas.

Day 5 Stop At: Kailashnath Mahadev, Kathmandu

This is newly set up biggest statue of God Shiva. This is located in Sanga and you can visit this beautiful garden and status here on the way to Panauti.
 Duration: 30 minutes

Day 6 Stop At: Panauti

Located 32 km Southeast of the capital Kathmandu in Kavre district Panauti is also one of the Oldest town in Nepal. This town is currently listed as a UNESCO tentative site since 1996.

Day 7 Pass By: Indreshwar Mahadev Temple, Panauti

This is the one of the largest and tallest pagoda style temples in Nepal. It was originally built over a lingam in 1294, making it the oldest surviving temple of Nepal.
