Day 1 Follow in the footsteps of ancient Egyptians as you trace the path of a popular pilgrimage in Dendara to the Temple of Hathor, the goddess of pleasure and love. Enter between two Roman fountains and within the walls find 2 birth houses, a Coptic Basilica, a sanitarium, and a sacred lake.
Continue to Abydos—one of the oldest cities in Egypt, a site of and carries enormous archaeological importance. Marvel at the great size of the Temple of Seti and hear the legend of Osiris, the god of the dead, whose burial here marked the gate to the underworld. Also, home to a royal necropolis, see remains of tombs and sarcophagi with explanations from your knowledgeable guide.
