The island of ice & fire? That´s Iceland! Iceland is literally made of lava, shaped by ice and created by Thor and Odinn. Black sand, surreal lava fields, huge powerful mountains with deep fjords lying in-between them made by huge ice bergs, gateway to hell, active volcanoes, glaciers, ice caves, trolls, elves and sea monsters like whales and sharks. This is Iceland. This is South Coast of Iceland. It has everything Iceland has to offer.
Visiting the South Coast is a must do tour in Iceland. Doing it in a private vehicle with an experienced local guide is the best way to travel in Iceland. Just relax, take your own time and ask the guide anything about everything in Iceland. Tour description
After being picked up by a private guide from your acommodation or its closest bus stop in the Reykjavik Capital Area, you will begin this journey. Drive over the biggest volcano in Iceland, listen to stories and enjoy the beautiful nature in Iceland, while you drive to the first stop.
Seljalandsfoss is the first location. The water in this waterfall runs from Icelands' most famous volcano, Eyjafjallajökull glacier. This is the waterfall you can walk behind and sometimes see rainbows on sunny days.
Skógafoss is the next stop. You will not see a more ideal waterfall! This is without a doubt one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland and in many minds the greatest one. It has a great treasure hidden behind it and a walking trail up to the top of the waterfall.
Katla ice cave is hidden beneath the Mýrdalsjökull glacier by Iceland's most powerful volcano Katla.
Reynisfjara black sand beach is the last stop. There you can see the troll out in the ocean towing a 3 mast ship to shore . You can see basalt rocks in the cliffs by the beach and an old island.
