We areas excited as you are to get your trip underway.One of the few African safari destinations that can beexplored by car, by boat or on guided walks, the 3,480km²Murchison Falls National Park is dominated geographically bythe Nile River and 43m-high waterfall after which it is named.Here you can be confident of seeing elephant, buffalo, hippo,giraffe, waterbuck, hartebeest, oribi, Uganda kob, crocodileand a good range of aquatic birds. With a bit of luck youmight also encounter lion, leopard, patas monkey and thebizarre stork-like shoebill.
Kibale National Park is best known for its population ofaround 1,000 chimpanzees, man and his closest genetic relative. Thepark is home to a dozen other primate species, includingUganda mangabey, a type of monkey that is unique to Ugandaand difficult to see anywhere other than Kibale. It supports adazzling forest birdlife, with 370 species recorded, rangingfrom the outrageously colorful great blue turaco to thesecretive green-breasted pitta.There is something about chimpanzees that makes them oneof the greatest safari prizes of all.
