Day 1 Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

You will have an early morning breakfast and move to the Park headquarters to join other trackers in a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules at 7:45 am. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you 1-8 hours. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access by tourists. You will have one hour to stay with the Gorillas once sited and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. The drive will be through a beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’ because of its unique cool weather despite being near the Equator. This lake is said to be one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. It is the second deepest lake in Africa [900 meters deep] and also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim as it is bilharzias free. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park and Bigodi swamp walk

You will, after breakfast, Take a boat ride on this lake touring different islands before transferring to Kibale Forest National Park arriving in the afternoon. On the Drive to Kibale National Park you will be able to enjoy an impressive sight of the legendary “Mountains of the Moon” which you will clearly see on the road to Fort Portal. You will have lunch in Fort Portal after which you will head to the Kibale National Park to visit the unique Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site where you will see uncommon plants and rare bird species such as the Great Blue Turacco, little Bulbul, Rwenzori Turaco and the Narina Trogon, among others. Dinner and overnight will be a Rweteera safari park.

Day 3 Chimpanzee tracking and travel to Kampala

You will, after breakfast, head to Kibale Forest to view the primates. The activity begins at 8.00am with a briefing of the rule for trekking the chimpanzees after which you set off to search for them in the forest. The exercise takes half a day and along the way you will see other primates such as Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Phoestes, Red-Colobus and the Blue tailed and the Red-tailed monkeys swinging in the branches of this thick forest. Your guide will give you informative briefings on the lifestyles of the primates you will be coming across and, on the plants, as well as on the insects and butterflies in this forest to ensure that the trek is not only enjoyable but informative as well. You will return to the lodge for lunch after which you will set off for Kampala arriving late in the afternoon and relax at your hotel as you get ready for your tomorrow's flight to Arusha for the Tanzania experience.

Day 4 Fly to Arusha and Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater

Our driver will pick you up from your Hotel in Arusha, with a picnic lunch en route to a full-day Ngorongoro Crater tour. You will be taken 2000ft down the crater by a 4-wheel drive vehicle, explore the crater before ascending, and drive to your Lodge set on a crater rim. The Ngorongoro Crater is often called ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World,’ a visit to the crater is a main drawcard for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attractionAccommodation: Ang'ata Ngorongoro Camp

Day 5 Ngorongoro - Serengeti National Park (Centaral Serengeti)

Rise early to the symphony of the African bush and enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting out on a full-day game drive across the Serengeti plains. Your expert guide will navigate through the vast grasslands, woodlands, and kopjes, in search of the migrating herds and the predators that follow in their wake. Keep your camera ready as you encounter an incredible array of wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, and more. In the evening, return to your accommodation for a delicious dinner and a chance to relax under the starlit sky.Accommodation -Ang'ata Serengeti Camp

Day 6 Serengeti National Park (North Mara)

After breakfast at the Camp, depart with your picnic lunch for a game drive and to view the great migration.Serengeti National Park -Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area, with a pride of lion up to 30 strong, however from August to October the area turns into a wildlife paradise. The key feature is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note - to find a crossing is very difficult and is sometimes a matter of luck.Accommodation:Ang'ata Migration Camp

Day 7 Serengeti National Park (North Mara)

After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game dive at the Mara River viewing the great migration river crossing. In the evening, back to the camp for the evening bonfire, dinner and overnight.River crossings at Kogatende start to occur every day in August as the mega herd settles into the area. From August to October, game viewing up here is superb with river crossings pretty much guaranteed every day. There is no distinct movement as the herds tend to cross back and forth over the river, following the rains and subsequent fresh grasses. It is not uncommon to see different herds crossing in different directions on the same day.Accommodation -Ang'ata Migration Camp

Serengeti National Park-Kogatende to Arusha As your Serengeti Great Migration Safari comes to an end, savor a final game drive through the park, bidding farewell to the wildlife and landscapes that have captured your heart. After breakfast, you'll be transferred back to the Kogatende Airstrip or your flight to Arusha or to Kilimanjaro Airport. Bid farewell to the magnificent Africa and we hope to see you some other day soon.
