Situated in eastern Georgia, Kakheti is celebrated as the birthplace of winemaking, with traditions that span over 8,000 years. Known as the "Cradle of Wine," Georgia is one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world, with archaeological evidence tracing its winemaking back to 6,000 BCE.

At the core of this ancient craft are Qvevris—large, clay vessels buried underground that allow wine to ferment naturally. This time-honored technique remains in use today, preserving a deep connection to Georgia’s winemaking heritage.

Kakheti is home to some of the country’s most iconic vineyards and wineries, producing a wide range of wines, including its renowned dry varieties. Indigenous grape types like Saperavi (red) and Rkatsiteli (white) thrive in this region, yielding wines with distinctive flavors and profound cultural importance.

With its stunning scenery, rich traditions, and welcoming hospitality, Kakheti offers an unparalleled wine tour experience. You’ll immerse yourself in the region’s history, savor a variety of exceptional wines, and experience the vibrant culture that makes Kakheti a cornerstone of Georgian heritage.
